message #2 engMessage #2 - April 2009Dear friends...So then, this is unbelievably 2009 and it seems to be still rolling on. We´ve successfully passed the first gigs this year and we´re stuck in the middle of pre-producing and writng for the new album. (more of that later). Let us shortly hold on for a moment and go back exactly 20 years to remember the days when this band rushed through the first real big time. Hitsingle „Lady“ was charting in 7 european countries, the video broadcasted not only on Tele 5 (Annette Hopfenmüller´s „hard & heavy“), a thousands got a copy of „The Prophecy“, „Metal Hammer“ loved the album too and the first big stages been rocked to the ground (Donauinselfest/Vienna, „hardrock against violence“-tour etc.) Historicly that was the time when the German border was opened in Berlin, in Austria „porn-hunter“ Humer had his haydays and SPEED LIMIT declared „Ö3 Verbot“ (which seems to last to these days...)Back to a shiny right here - right now! We ignore all stopsigns working on new material, which we are ready and willing to release on cd this year. We are inspired from head to toe also by all those little memorable things happening to us during the last gigs. As we did recently in front of lots of young metal-fans (CMF/Hallein) as well as some 1500 classic-rockfans (with Manfred Mann/Stein a.d. Traun). We are damn shure that you will be proud on your ol` fellow speedies – this will definitly be the best SPEED LIMIT album in 20 years! You may hear some of the new songs at live-gigs to come (as you did for example at the reunion-show) and the new song „Too old to die young“ you have already choosen for a live-hymn by joining in at many places.By the way... There are some rumors about various shows or festivals we are said to take part in. The truth is: we are talking to people here an there (even big names involved), but only those dates announced here on our official webside (www.speedlimit.at) are confirmed. We also ask for your kind understanding that we won´t play extensively this year (before the recording is done).
